In my opinion, the most important component to blocking success is mindset. And there are two components to mindset. 1. No fear (instincts say move, catchers need to go against their instincts and jump in front). 2. Anticipate (A lot of times a catcher will know the pitch is going to bounce due to knowing their pitchers tendencies). Use this drill series to help develop confidence and comfort with the ball contacting the body. Once a catcher is comfortable with the ball hitting them, THEN they can have no fear.
