There are several key components to throwing success. In my opinion, number one on the list is mindset or what is going on between the catchers ears. A catcher needs to have confidence in their abilities and anticipate or know who the fast runners are. The “Johnny Bench” mindset of “I can throw out any man alive” is what I mean by confidence. If you pay attention to the stats of the other team if you have them and/or body type and position the opposing players play, you’ll have a good idea of who will attempt to steal.
